Drawer Systems

Kitchen cabinets should be both beautiful and practical, and the drawers you choose play a huge part in the design process. At Benchmark Kitchens, our experienced cabinetmakers provide Hervey Bay homeowners with a large variety of drawer options from trusted brands such as Blum.

Improved technology has resulted in bigger drawers that can handle heavier loads and, in many kitchens, drawers now store everything from utensils, cutlery and spices to bulkier items like pots, pans, glassware and crockery. You can choose to keep your drawers open or add in partitions for easier organisation.

They can also run on nylon or ball bearing runners, have soft close technology or even incorporate your bin, vegetable hampers or a pull-out concealed chopping block.

In terms of drawers it's important to consider how you operate and whether the standard four-drawer 'cutlery' stack of old suits your needs and budget or whether you want additional drawers throughout. We recommend a four-drawer bank plus at least one pot drawer stack.

You'll also need to think about the type of drawer runner you want, as the technology and styling that's now available in drawer runners is a giant leap from what was available ten or even five years ago. It's very much a personal choice and there's no right or wrong so we highly recommend having a chat with us about your options and watching the video below to help you make an informed decision.

Storage Solutions & Accessories

"Get the inner workings of your storage right and you'll love your kitchen forever."
Lynne Testoni – Inside Out Magazine

Alongside our custom-designed cabinetry and storage solutions, Benchmark Kitchens also supplies a range of organisational and storage accessories. Many of these fit inside your cabinets or cupboards to help keep the contents in order and make more efficient use of the space.

The biggest mistake many people make when purchasing their new kitchen is to replicate the layout they already have. All you achieve is a prettier kitchen that is no more functional than the kitchen you're spending thousands of dollars to replace.
In contrast, a thoughtful layout and money spent in the right places to incorporate additional drawers and a few practical storage solutions can help eliminate clutter and turn chaotic and hard-to-reach corners into useful, more efficient spaces.
